About We Rock the Spectrum Yorkville

Amy and James are the new owners of We Rock the Spectrum Yorkville. They have been married 25 years. They have 4 adult children that were adopted from Russia and they have 3 grandchildren. Their youngest daughter Payton is on the Autism Spectrum, she was diagnosed at the age of 2 and a half. She is 19 now and is currently in the transition program in her school district. Payton also works at the Gym part time. Amy and James opened up We Rock the Spectrum Shorewood in August of 2024. The Allen’s have had such amazing support from the community and have been so blessed by all of the families that have supported them as well as community organizations and leaders. So much so that they decided to open a We Rock the Spectrum in Yorkville. The Allen’s are excited to bring the gym to this amazing community and can’t wait to meet everyone as well. They look forward to being a resource to this community just like in Shorewood.

Amy ran an in-home daycare for 9 years, and in her early 40’s decided to go back to school to become a Physical Therapist Assistant. She is currently working with kids in Early Intervention. Amy’s passion has always been helping kids and families navigate all that comes with kids with special needs. She wants to be a resource for the community because she knows how hard it is to navigate all that goes with raising kids as well as raising kids with special needs. She wishes she had this amazing resource when her kids were younger.

The Allens are very excited to get started on their We Rock the Spectrum journey, and meet more of the Yorkville community, and learn from everyone!
